I'm Meredith Honig. For the last 20 years I've been paid to tell stories. From producing to directing, showrunning, writing and editing, shooting, pitching, managing budgets and people - there is not a lot about creating a story from start to finish that I haven't touched at some point.

 

I love the whole mess of it all, untangling the knots to create something you can be proud of. And ultimately putting something out in the world that might shed light on an unnoticed corner of the world.

 

Each documentary is a deep dive into the lives and experiences of individuals and communities, shedding light on their unique perspectives and challenges.

 

My hope is that through powerful storytelling and compelling visuals, I can provoke empathy and understanding, making the unseen seen.

 

I was raised in Texas & South Carolina, came of age in Vermont & Boston, and am currently raising 3 kids, 2 dogs and any number of strays in North Carolina on a few acres in a forest we love to call home. I'm also getting my Masters in Video Journalism from UNC Chapel Hill's Hussman School of Journalism & Media, graduating in August of 2025.

 

Growing up, my parents always told me that I asked questions that none of my siblings did about the how's and why's of life. I have to say that not much has changed as an adult. I love getting to the essence of what makes a person, a place, and a story tick.
